GET INVOLVED
A Labor of Love – Sustained by Community
Everything you see at Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park exists because of volunteers and donors like you.
From the native plantings and seasonal mulching to the tree trimming and weekly grass cutting – it’s all done by dedicated community members. The new fence along Route 65 that buffers traffic noise? Volunteers and donations. The replacement fence along Beaver Road? The same. Every StoryWalk® sign, every free nature event, every garden bed carefully tended to welcome pollinators and visitors alike – none of it happens without the generosity of people who believe in this place.
We don’t charge admission. We don’t charge for programs. We simply offer a beautiful, biodiverse refuge where families can explore, children can learn, and neighbors can gather. But keeping the park alive – vibrant, safe, and welcoming – requires real resources.
Your support makes all the difference. Whether you give your time, your skills, or a financial contribution, you become part of the story we’re writing together: a story of restoration, discovery, and community care.
Get involved with an inspired place.
We would love to have you. There are several ways to support the park.
DONATE
Your generous support helps continue the magic of the Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park through horticultural care, educational programming, infrastructure maintenance, and seasonal improvements. Donations may be made via Venmo, Go Fund Me, online or mailed to OTPA, P.O. Box 303, Sewickley, PA 15143. A letter will be sent acknowledging your donation.
VOLUNTEER
Any amount of time is deeply appreciated. We especially need volunteers in the spring and summer months. We are developing a long-term Park Steward Program in which trained volunteers “adopt” a portion of the park to act as caretakers—modeled after the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Urban EcoSteward Program.
PLANT A LEGACY
In 2026, MRR Nature Park is dedicated to expanding its tree canopy and restoring native plant life — creating habitat, improving air quality, and making the park more beautiful for every visitor. Consider donating a tree in the name of a loved one. Every tree planted this season will become part of MRR Nature Park’s permanent canopy — growing long after we’re gone. Reach out at mrrnaturepark.org to dedicate one.
