Where Every Trail Tells a Story and Every Season Brings New Wonder

The Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park invites exploration at your own pace. Whether you seek a meditative walk, a family adventure, or a quiet spot to reconnect with nature, these trails and features welcome you.

Main Loop

A gentle stone path winds through the ravine forest, following the contours of the land. Accessible and welcoming, this trail reveals the park’s ecological diversity – from floodplain to hillside – in a short, peaceful walk.

Seasonal Stream

Listen for the sound of water moving over stone. This ephemeral stream swells in spring and after rains, providing vital habitat for amphibians and a cool respite for woodland creatures.

Stone Amphitheater

Nestled into the hillside, this hand-built gathering space hosts nature programs, storytelling, and community events. It’s also a perfect spot to sit quietly and observe the life of the forest.

Pollinator Garden

Designed to bloom in succession, this garden supports native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators throughout the growing season. Interpretive signs help you identify plants and understand their ecological roles.

Fairy Houses

Tucked along the trail, these whimsical structures spark imagination in visitors of all ages. Built from natural materials, they invite you to look closely, wonder deeply, and perhaps add a touch of magic yourself.

Picnic Areas

Picnic tables and benches offer spots to rest, eat, and linger. Bring a lunch, bring a book, or simply sit and let the forest settle around you.

Educational Signage

Throughout the park, thoughtfully placed signs introduce you to native species, ecological processes, and the natural history of this special place. Every visit is an opportunity to learn.
